On Labor Day weekend, Christine and Steve were married. They live out in San Diego but held the wedding here in Connecticut where Steve’s family lives. I had met Christine, her Mom, Steve’s Mom and the maid of honor, Kim, back in the summer as they all spent a weekend cramming in as much wedding planning as possible in a few short days. But I didn’t meet Steve until I saw him at the church. That’s a first for me. He was beaming and I don’t think he could wait to see Christine appear at the end of that aisle.
It was a special treat to finally see these two together. They had managed to pull off an amazing wedding, down to the last detail, and they did it from all the way across the country! I think most of all they just wanted a casual, fun day spent with their family and friends. They were completely relaxed and completely in love and just the easiest people to be around and to photograph. Huge thanks to Julia for second shooting with me.
You might remember this photo from my Sneak Peek a couple weeks back:
Well–today’s post is going to focus on the bride getting ready and some details. If you’ve been to my blog before, you may already know that I have the hardest time narrowing down my images and my tendency is to post a lot. As in, a LOT. So I’ve taken to breaking my weddings up into 2 or 3 posts covering different parts of the day.
I don’t know the whole back story but I do know that at the very last minute Christine had to find a new dress. Hers couldn’t be altered in time and with something like a week to go, she was without a dress! I don’t know what the original dress was going to look like, but I can’t really imagine her looking any more breathtaking than she did in this:

I rest my case.
Christine gets her hair and make-up done by Katie and Amy from Dana Bartone. Those two were awesome. Wait till you see the final results!
Christine did an amazing job with her details. She had a special object chosen for each of her bridesmaids to pin onto their bouquets–see a few examples below. She also gave them each a gift. A bracelet with their first initial made from an old typewriter key–so unique and so cool! I gotta get me one of those.
Christine’s mother helps her zip up the dress. Doesn’t she look incredible?!
Christine and Steve–I hope you are enjoying the pictures so far. I’m sure you’ve been anxious to see them! There are so many more great images to share! Stay tuned for the next installment in a matter of days…
