In September Julia and I made the trip to Cape Cod to document the incredible wedding of Leigh and Patrick. What a day! For starters, the location was just breathtaking. Leigh’s uncle was generous enough to open up his home to them for their wedding reception. It is also where the girls got ready that morning. As you can imagine, Julia and I were pretty excited when we drove up to see where we would be shooting that day:
In the collage below the top left shot is mine but the rest are Julia’s–she is the queen of details. The house was full of all of these perfect little touches. Like my dream home realized. Sigh…
After saying hello and drooling a bit over the house and the view, we headed upstairs to get some shots of the girls getting ready.

Did I mention the little details?

So. Beautiful.
Leigh was one of those brides you just love to be around–totally relaxed and easy going. She was getting her hair done when we arrived.
And the shoes. There was no shortage of cool places to take these. We had to control ourselves.
The ladies were busy all over the house getting themselves ready. Pat’s sister is in the bottom photo below. This is what she was like all day–laughing and smiling. Love her!
I just love capturing the busy-ness of lots of ladies getting ready. Leigh designed a beautiful necklace for each of her girls to wear–you can see it in the photo in the middle on the right. Oh–and I won’t say too much about that bottom left shot–let’s just call it a private joke for the ladies and move on. 😉
Meanwhile…Julia headed over to the beachside motel where the boys were also getting ready. Okay–so it takes guys about 5 minutes to get ready so they were mostly hanging out but you catch my drift.
And…back to the ladies! Leigh’s flowers arrived and they were just stunning! Hobart’s Fine Florals did an amazing job.

Love her emotion in the top shot when her bridesmaids first see her. And the elation in the bottom shot.
We scooted down the hall so Leigh could get a glimpse of herself in a full-length mirror:
Time to go!

One of my favorites...
Stay tuned for many more to come! Thanks, Leigh and Patrick, for a marvelous day!
