Sigh..this post is long overdue. I am so happy to finally be sitting down to share about this wonderful new children’s book!
I met KarinLeFranc last fall. She owned a lovely children’s boutique in Avon and was looking for some local artists to display their work in an upstairs space she and her friend Jane were using to teach classes for kid and parents. I made some canvases for them to hang upstairs and a couple of months later Karin contacted me to announce that her new book, A Quest for good Manners, had been published and she needed a few headshots to use for publicity. Um…yes! How fun is that?! My other secret dream–besides becoming a photographer–is to be a writer of children’s books. So I was very excited to be involved in any way I could.
Here is a shot of the cover of her book:
It was a cold day in winter so we didn’t spend too long outside but here are some of our favorites shots from the day:
With four kids at home and a super busy schedule following the publication of her first book, Karin recently sold her store. But she and her friend Jane have just opened up a wonderful new center in Avon called The Firefly Center. I am honored that they have asked me to share my work in this new classroom space. Please check out their website–they have so many wonderful classes for parents and children!
I will be posting more about this wonderful center soon so stay tuned!
This last shot was taken inside her store, Over the Moon. Karin teaches classes on etiquette and table manners and also hosts “high tea” at the Firefly Center.
And here is a video of Karin reading a portion of the book aloud. You can also check out some of the amazing illustrations by Hannah Neale.
Karin’s book should be available in area bookstores this June. I got an “advance copy” and Finn and I loved it! It is such a cute story about a princess and her pet dragon on a quest to learn manners. Please be sure to check it out!
