Ok. Grabbin’ the tissues for this one! In September I had the incredible honor of photographing the wedding of two of our dearest friends in the world–Jess and Lindy. I have loved reliving the day as I edited their images and collected some favorites to share in this post.
My husband, Tim, met Jess back when they were fraternity brothers at the University of Oregon. Tim has been dying to take me to Oregon to share the beauty of the landscape and to visit his college campus so this was a great excuse to finally make the trip!
Jess’s family owns an amazing cabin on a property in Sisters, Oregon. Jess and his brothers had grown up visiting the cabin for much of their lives so it was obviously very dear to his family and a perfect place for both their ceremony and reception. I cannot say enough about what a lovely and special and emotional day this was! From the moment I arrived Lindy was nothing but laughter and smiles and hugs and love. She and Jess had put a lot of thought and time into choosing certain details related to their Big Day (wait until you see their rings!) but they clearly cared most about sharing their love and their commitment with the people that matter most to them in the world–their family and friends.
Lindy got ready at a nearby cabin along with a crew of her dearest friends and relatives.
What did I tell you about the laughter? Lindy–you light up the room with that smile!
Amy from Sun Spa in Redmond did a great job on the girls’ hair.
While Lindy and her ladies were busy getting ready I focused on some of their details. Jess and Lindy had their rings created by Atelier Minyon in New York. They are incredible. The jeweler put them in this lovely box along with the black diamond earrings Lindy wore (also his creation.)
Lindy’s father is a scientist and he created the moissanite crystals that are in the center of her ring. The crystals are captured in a basket that sits on top of a hammered gold band with an interior ring of black diamonds. Jess’s ring is a rough inverse of her design with an oxidized silver band surrounding an interior ring of hammered gold. Both rings reflect a unique, modern take on Turkish jewelry design, Atelier Minyon’s speciality.
Atelier Minyon also created the beautiful cuff that Lindy wore, seen bottom left.
Lindy’s dress was so beautiful. It was perfect and simple and classic. Wait until you see it on her!
Love this next pair of Lindy and her grandmother.
Ready to go get married!!
The arbor was built by Jess’s older brother, Bret. He owns Old Portland Hardware & Architecture in Portland. The arbor is so unique and beautiful. It was decorated with flowers from Wildflowers of Oregon. You can see more of their lovely work below:
Jess and Lindy opted to do a First Look so that they could get all of the formal photos done before their ceremony. Love it!
Pretty much every square inch of this property is a photo-op so we had no trouble finding beautiful spots to shoot.
Here are a few favorites taken before the ceremony:
Brandon Cook played the ceremony music. Beautiful.

Honestly, I could post all night so let’s go ahead to the ceremony! Love this shot below of Jess as he first spots Lindy and her grandmother about to walk down the aisle. Her mother and sister followed–it was all about family at this event and I loved it.

Love their reaction to her arrival--a sweet kiss followed by a gale of laughter! I giggle every time I see this series.
The ceremony was performed by both Jess’s father and Lindy’s father. How cool is that?!
This next collage shows Jess and Lindy saying their vows to one another. Beautiful.
Married!!
After lots of hugs and smiles, we all headed down the dirt road to the Community House for cocktails and dinner.
There were a handful of toasts. All of them touching and most of them hilarious.
Instead of a traditional cake, a friend of Lindy’s made them a fancy tiered Rice Krispie treat cake! The “cake cutting” was quite the show:
Jess and Lindy had an awesome band, Acoustic Etouffee. These guys were so fun and kept the dance floor hoppin’ all night.
Okay. Best First Dance I’ve seen yet. Lindy climbed onto Jess’s lap and they wheeled, with flourish, all around the dance floor laughing and snuggling.
Lindy and her father danced a rumba. Impressive!
Jess and Lindy–your wedding day was a dream come true. Thank you so much for the honor of documenting this amazing day. Love you guys the most! xoxo
